Operating craft beer breweries and taprooms 7 days a week in the cities of Gig Harbor and Tacoma, 7 Seas Brewing Company started out as a two-person craft beer venture based out of downtown Tacoma’s historic brewery district. Mike Runion and Travis Guterson founded 7 Seas Brewing Company in April 2008. Since its inception, 7 Seas Brewing Company has been making great craft beer.
Guterson and Runion, both of whom are Puget Sound natives, started brewing operations in a building of a defunct racquetball court facility. After the business partners started daily operations, a fire started in a separate unit and then spread to the brewery, ravaging the 1,500 sq. ft. building. Determined to succeed in the U.S. craft beer brewing industry and committed to producing and selling fine craft beer in Washington state, Guterson and Runion relocated their company to a 3,000 sq. ft. building at the former location of an auto body shop near Gig Harbor Orthodontics.

As beer production grew and sales exploded, several distributors in the surrounded area have partnered with the company, facilitating the fulfillment of orders and delivery of its fine beer throughout the state of Washington.
In December 2015, Guterson and Runion bought the 80,000 sq. ft. building out of which the famous Heidelberg Brewery operated near downtown Tacoma. After years of planning and preparation, 7 Seas Brewing Company started operations at the new location where beer had not been brewed since 1979. In August 2016, the iconic brewery constructed a 10,000 sq. ft. taproom that offers amenities to the public: tours of the brewing operations, enjoy consuming premium craft-brewed beer at custom bars and wood tables, sampling expertly-crafted beer poured from 48 state-of-the-art taps, and much more.
Today, the company has operations in Gig Harbor and Tacoma, employs over 30 people, and offers premium crafted-beer to its loyal customers.
